Big Dog Lover’s 5K
is set for Feb. 19

The Big Dog Lover’s Day 5K run/walk will be held Feb. 19.

The free event is open to all, regardless of fitness level, starting at 7 a.m. at Hilo Bayfront Park near the canoe hale.

Sign-ups begin at 6:30 a.m. Post-race refreshments will be provided.

Keaau Volleyball
Club registration

Keaau Volleyball Club is seeking girls players ages 10-16 years old.

Practices will be in the Mountain View/Keaau area, and the club is accepting registration for the Haili Tournament, which starts Feb. 20.

Vulcan Athletic Club
luncheon on Tuesday

The Vulcan Athletic Club will hold its monthly luncheon at noon Tuesday at Naniloa Volcanoes Resort and feature men’s golf coach Earl Tamiya and women’s golf coach Jim DeMello.

The public is invited to attend this event to get a breakdown on the upcoming spring season for both teams.

The Vulcan Athletic Club’s goal is to provide financial, scholarship and service support to the department of athletics.
